10 Night cruise sailing from Rome to Venice onboard Azamara Journey.

Your voyage begins in Rome, and when in Rome, do as the Azamara guests do: Arrive early, and take in all the Eternal City has to offer. Then it’s off to the cliff-side city of Sorrento to explore nearby Capri and Pompeii.

Amalfi looks just like a postcard. Explore its beaches, beautiful cloister, and famous coast road overlooking the beautiful blue sea below.

Siracusa, Sicily is a quaint, walkable city protected by a seawall that offers spectacular views of the turquoise Ionian Sea. Find your way to the Piazza Duomo and stand in awe of the Cathedral of Siracusa.

After a relaxing day at sea, maybe spent at the pool or enjoying specialty dinning, a late stay in Kotor is in order. Take your time exploring this well-preserved medieval town on the Adriatic.

Dubrovnik is outstanding—the whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along the ancient walls, then shop for leather, Konavle embroidery, or gold. In Sibenik, enjoy a Croatian red babić paired with fresh-caught seafood.

In Koper, there’s time for a train ride to Ljubljana—Slovenia’s capital—and the newest hot spot full of Old World plazas, baroque churches, and dramatic castles.

Your voyage concludes with an overnight in Venice. Stay an extra night or two before you head home, leaving time for a walking tour to the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Square. Come to think of it, you may never want to leave.

    Highlights of this cruise:

    Civitavecchia, (Rome), Italy
Always enchanting, the Eternal City will captivate you—no matter how many times you visit. Walk in the steps of gladiators at the Coliseum, channel your inner statesman at the Forum, or gaze up in wonder at Michelangelo's masterwork at St. Peter's Basilica. Pasta and vino are a must, and there are plenty of places to relax and refuel after a day of exploration.

    Sorrento, Italy
Looking out from Sorrento is the isle of Capri. The island is divided into two main parts, Capri and Anacapri. Capri is full of Italian luxury, with designer stores and five-star hotels lining the streets, while Anacapri is slightly more down-to-earth. Take a relaxing chair lift ride to the very top of the island, as the views are jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

    Amalfi, Italy
Live it up in the land of limoncello. Perched on one of the world's most stunning coastlines, Amalfi delivers a true Italian experience. Discover unique shops and galleries, take a thrilling cliffside drive, or stay close to the shore and live la dolce vita.

    Siracusa, Sicily, Italy
Classic sights like the Ortygia, Neapolis, and the Basilica of Santa Lucia are always worth a visit, but if you’re looking for something a little more offbeat, take in a puppet theatre show—a traditional form of Sicilian entertainment. The stunning Fonte Aretusa was once the source of the city’s drinking water, and now the pond and surrounding area is a scenic spot, perfect for a picnic lunch.

    Kotor, Montenegro
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kotor is filled with churches, shops, bars, restaurants, and hidden piazzas. (The latter are perfect for enjoying Montenegrin wines like the red Vranac or dry white Krstač.) The entire city is surrounded by stone, both in the form of imposing Mount Saint John and by towering ancient walls, creating a cozy feeling of protection when you walk the cobblestone streets.

    Dubrovnik, Croatia
From the moment you step beyond the stonewalls that protects Dubrovnik, you’ll understand what makes it so special. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is adorned with charming squares and centuries-old red-roofed buildings. Walk the walls for a spectacular view of the city, and if anything looks familiar, it’s probably because Dubrovnik is the home of King’s Landing on HBO’s Game of Thrones.

    Sibenik, Croatia
A must see in the old part of Sibenik is the Cathedral Sveti Jakov, and if you love the great outdoors, then visit Krka National Park. One of the best ways to see Sibenik is to lose yourself in the side streets and alleys that lead to charming shops and squares. Be sure to take a break at one of the city’s many restaurants and enjoy a local red babić paired with some fresh Adriatic seafood.

    Koper, Slovenia
Even with such sights as the historic Old Town, Preaetorian Palace, and the beautiful square of Titov Trg, Koper is also the gateway to an array of intercontinental adventures. Trek through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Skocjan Caves; tour the capital city of Ljubljana, truly one of Europe’s secret gems; or cross the border into the Italian coffee capital of Trieste for a cappuccino.

    Venice, Italy
Experience Venice, one of the most captivating—and romantic—cities in the world. Tour the city’s cobblestone streets and overarching bridges, or take to the water and explore the canals on a water taxi or gondola. As you make your way through the city, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to shop, sample delicious Veneto wines, or people watch in Piazza San Marco.
