Isles de la Madeleine, Quebec See all cruises

The Îles de la Madeleine is called 'Menagoesenog' by the Mi'kmaq, meaning 'islands brushed by the waves'. As we will come to realize, this name is fitting since it is here that huge masses of water meet and encircle the archipelago's dozen islands. The Îles de la Madeleine are filled with a spectrum of colours, from the golden sand dunes that connect six of these islands (equaling over 300km of beach), to the green of rolling hills and the rich red hues of its famed sandstone cliffs. These cliffs are a photographer's delight with their unique columns, towers, funnels and sinkholes. Over 300 species of birds have made these islands their home - we'll make time to seek them out, and also keep our eyes peeled for the Gray and Harbour seals who frequent this area.
