Salaverry is a port located in the city of Trujillo in the La Libertad Region, Peru. Trujillo is a city of rich colonial architecture and very important archaeological centers of the pre-Inca era.
Archaeological sites of primary importance can be found just 15 minutes south of Trujillo, including the Sun Temple (Huaca El Sol), and the Moon Temple (Huaca La Luna). Perhaps the most popular Trujillo tours are those that head to the excavated Chimu city of Chan Chan.

Port Location - The port of Salaverry is lcoated 17km southeast of Trujillo.
Travel Links – Trujillo airport has connections to Lima, Chiclayo, Cajamarca, Tumbes & Chagual for Huamachuco. Three airlines offer daily flights from Lima to Trujillo : LanPeru, Star Peru and WayraPeru.
There is no train service in the area. The nearest trains are to the north in museums in Chiclín(30 km) & Pacasmayo(100 km).
Trujillo is on the Pan-American Highway with numerous bus connections south to Chimbote, Lima and north to Chiclayo, Piura, Mancora, and Tumbes on the border with Ecuador. Also to Otuzco & Huamachuco to the east, Cajamarca , Chachapoyas, Tarapoto and Yurimaguas to the north east, & Caraz & Huaraz to the South East.
