Wrangell is a city and borough in Alaska, United States. Wrangell is located on Alaska’s Inside Passage, on the northern tip of Wrangell Island, an island in the Alaska Panhandle. It is 250 km (155 miles) south of the Alaskan capital of Juneau. This waterfront town is a central hub for goods, services and transportation for outlying areas; the harbour is busy with a large fleet of tugs and commercial fishing vessels.

Front Street is the heart of Wrangell's business district and the eastern side of the street is a historical area featuring buildings with quite distinctive false fronts left over from the gold rush days.

Visitors to Wrangell can experience unique and pristine wilderness and abundant wildlife. There are a variety of excursions to see glaciers, black and brown bears, eagles, sea lions, harbour seals, whales, salmon and halibut to name a few. Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory is a favourite spot to view brown and black bears feasting on salmon.

The Tlingit Chief Shakes Island and Tribal House Historic Monument are popular tourist attractions in Wrangell. The Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park features primitive rock carvings believed to be 8000 years old. Travel the Stikine River to visit the places where gold miners camped and garnets were mined.
