Day 1: Kyoto
Arrive in Kyoto and be transferred to your hotel.
Spend the rest of your day at leisure.
Day 2: Kyoto
Today discover a sampling of treasures in Kyoto,
beginning with a visit to the Nijo Castle, built in 1603 as
a residence for the first Tokugawa shogun. Kinkaku-ji,
the glittering Golden Pavilion is one of Japan’s most
cherished sites. This elegant, gilded structure was
built in the 14th century as a retirement villa. Later, visit
World Heritage-listed Kiyomizudera temple, nestled into
the forest-clad side of Higashiyama Hill, and the quaint
Sannen Zaka and Ninnen Zaka streets.
Day 3: Kyoto
Enjoy a final morning in Kyoto today before transferring
to Kansai Airport.

Day 1: Kyoto
Arrive in Kyoto and be transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Kyoto
Meet your English-speaking guide and travel by public
transport to Fushimi. Walk through the thousands of
coloured “torii” (a traditional Japanese gate), which
line the mountain path, creating a surreal, almost
tunnel-like walk to the many sub-shrines and mountain
lookout. Visit a sake brewery and sample the famous
brew before enjoying lunch in a traditional Machiya,
a wooden townhouse developed in Kyoto. Enjoy an
afternoon exploring Kyoto at your own pace. In the
evening, explore Kyoto’s famed Gion District.
Day 3: Kyoto
Today is at leisure to explore Kyoto.
Day 4: Kyoto
After breakfast, be transferred to the airport.
