and out of the many picturesque bays calling on the
locals, delivering their supplies, groceries and mail.
The leisurely pace means you’ll get up close to wildlife
– look for seals or whales and endless bird and fish
life. You’ll also see natural wonders such as the Black
Rocks – unusual volcanic formations and Marsden
Cross, where the first Christian sermon was held in
New Zealand back in 1814.
Arrive at Cape Brett Lighthouse, venture through
the Hole in the Rock and take in the majestic Grand
Cathedral Cave before heading back into the sheltered
waters of the Bay.
You can buy hot and cold drinks and cold food on board
or grab a snack at the café on Urupukapuka Island
(extra charge).
Ninety years on, the Cream Trip cruise is still the best
way to see the Bay.
