than 800 metres above sea level on the 12 kilometre
long Franz Josef. For two hours, equipped with glacier
boots and crampons and with your guides leading the
way, see first hand crevasses, pinnacles and other

TWIN GLACIER HELICOPTER
FLIGHT
Flanked to the west by the Southern Alps and to the
east by the Tasman Sea, the West Coast region is a
rugged stretch of native forested land, lakes, mountains,
farmland, wild coastline and the location of the stunning
natural wonders Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers.
Embark on an adventure aboard one of The Helicopter
Line’s modern Airbus helicopters designed specifically
for flights in the stunning national parks and glacier
region of New Zealand. Enjoy a flight with a pilot who
has specialist wilderness flying experience. Fly over both
the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers soaring first above the
townships and then following the ice flow high into the
upper reaches. Land in the snow at the head of one of
the phenomenal glaciers and survey the natural path the
glacier has carved below.
