EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO
The Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo is the most
spectacular show in the world. It is a unique and
memorable collection of music, dance and military
pageantry. Marvel at Edinburgh Castle’s footlights as
they transform into a dazzling stage. The show is the
army’s contribution to the Edinburgh Festival and the
highlight of the festival season.
The Military Tattoo production features a superb
range of international performers staged against the
backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. Almost 1000 musicians,
pipers, drummers, singers and dancers perform at the
Edinburgh Tattoo on the Esplanade. Enjoy the spine-
tingling sights and sounds of the world famous massed
pipes and drums, that emerge from the huge castle’s
gates. This is the finest display military pageantry you
can witness anywhere in the world.

HIGHLAND GAMES
Attend a real Highland Games and soak up the
atmosphere and experience the excitement. The
Games, or Gatherings, take place in towns and villages
throughout the country and are a highlight of the
Scottish calendar, making for a truly memorable day out
amongst grand Highland scenery.
Renowned the world over as a test of strength between
Clans, these contests date back over 900 years.
The games are a fantastic spectacle where you’ll
see Highland dancing, pipe band displays, hammer
throwing, tug-of-war and caber tossing. The Braemar
Gathering is the biggest and most prestigious event and
has been attended by members of the Royal Family
since Queen Victoria first attended in 1844.
A range of day tours have been created based around
these events that include the best of Scotland’s beautiful
landscape. Each has its own local charm and character.

Leave Edinburgh at 8:30am and travel to the heart of
the country to discover picturesque towns or villages.
