Cambodia
Nestled between Vietnam, Laos and Thailand is the fascinating country of Cambodia. Explore this kingdom of wonder and be rewarded with culture, history,
architecture and delicious cuisine. This land of iconic temples, turbulent history and warm and welcoming people will leave you with lasting memories.
Ancient Temples
Exploring the Temples of Angkor is a must for all visitors to Cambodia. Marvel at the dramatic spires of Angkor Wat, uncover the mysterious Buddha
faces of Bayon and discover the intricate web of tangled tree roots at Ta Prohm. Cross the bridge lined with stone carvings of deities into Angkor Thom
and visit the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Venture further afield
to the jungle-enveloped Boeng Mealea for a real sense of adventure. Surrounded by a moat,
Banteay Srei features delicately carved pink sandstone
bas-reliefs depicting scenes of daily life.
Bustling Cities
Best known as the gateway to the Temples of Angkor, lively Siem Reap is home
to busy markets, bars and restaurants offering the chance to sample delicious
Cambodian cuisine. Soak up the charming atmosphere, admire the old
French shophouses, stroll along the tree-lined boulevards and discover the
vibrant nightlife along Pub Street.
The reinvented riverside capital of Phnom Penh buzzes with a youthful
energy where boutiques, art galleries and quirky cafés are nestled along
tree-lined boulevards. Motorbikes whiz through laneways and markets
are a flurry of activity. Since the reign of the Khmer Rouge, the city has
rebuilt itself while still retaining its glittering temples and colonial-era
architecture. The country’s turbulent past is captured at Tuol Sleng
Genocide Museum and the infamous Killing Fields at Choeung Ek,
a sobering reminder of the Khmer Rouge.
