AERIAL YOGA ARRIVES AT EVASON SIX SENSES SPA IN VIETNAM
One of the hottest trends in the world of wellness has arrived at
the Six Senses Spa at Evason Ana Mandara in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Aerial, or Flying Yoga, is a combination of stretching, breathing and
meditation with gymnastics in which practitioners are suspended
from aerial swings.
An aerial yoga session typically moves through a range of yoga poses
that work the entire body in a whole new way from standard forms
of yoga, challenging strength, balance and flexibility and enabling
sensations of floating and flying.
Aerial yoga also provides an opportunity to practice inversions
without any pressure on the head and to feel the magic of floating
upside down.
Evason Ana Mandara is Nha Trang’s only beachfront resort, offering
an extensive menu of traditional Vietnamese therapies as well as
holistic wellness and pampering treatments.
The resort also offers tennis, beach volleyball and a water-activity
centre, a PADI Dive Centre and a range of excursions. Aerial yoga
classes are available for all levels of experience.
CYCLE YOUR WAY THROUGH PROVENCE IN SOUTHERN FRANCE
The Lubéron Mountains, Lavender Festivals, Almond Tree Blossoming
and the romantic Rhône Valley (featured in one of our main stories
this issue) are amongst the attractions covered in the cycling and
walking tours operated by Avignon-based Walk Inn Provence.
The five-night, six-day Cycling on the Wine Roads of Provence tour,
for instance, is a moderate-fitness-required self-guided tour from
Avignon north to Châteauneuf du Pape and the Rhône River and back
to Avignon. It blends daily cycle rides with visits to gorgeous old
towns, lively local markets and fine wine.
To add to the feeling of authenticity the trip crosses the route of the
famed Tour de France near Mount Ventoux, Provence’s highest peak,
where the world-famous annual race begins its ascent towards the
summit.
The Wine Roads of Provence route follows seldom-used country roads
through cherry orchards, forests, vineyards and canyons and takes
in the most prestigious winemaking villages in the southern Rhône
Valley (Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise) and visits
Tavel, one of France’s most reputed rosé vineyards. There are plenty
of opportunities for wine-tasting along the way!
Walk Inn Provence is a registered French-based travel agency (a
guarantee of safety against firms suddenly closing down or cancelling
trips without notice). The company has bilingual guides and a hands-
on approach to trip organisation that includes detailed knowledge of
the terrain and the local accommodation (there’s a choice of Comfort
or Charming options). Luggage is transferred each day between
accommodations and E-bikes (electric motor assistance bikes) are
available for tackling hills.
