ARNHEM LAND

       Arnhem Land spans 97,000 square
kilometres in the north-eastern corner of the
Territory. Isolated bays, marine life, mangrove
       decorated tidal flats and spectacular
landscapes combine to create one of
Australia’s last true wilderness areas. Fish in
the remote waters and take the opportunity
to obtain rare access into Indigenous
       communities, unchanged for centuries.
While four wheel drive access into Arnhem
Land is possible, it is recommended that
you check which areas require access
permits and allow time for this when
planning your holiday. As tourist access is
quite strict, it is best to travel as part of a
       tour which includes permits.
