CUNARD OFFERS NEW EUROPEAN Cunard’s 2017 Europe programme offers new special event 23
SPECIAL EVENT CRUISES IN 2017 cruise itineraries featuring everything from operatic arias
in the home of Romeo and Juliet to carols at the famous
Bruges Christmas markets.
From seven-night transatlantic crossings to 21-night
sojourns in the waters of the Mediterranean, the
programme encompasses 161 sailings on Queen Mary
2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth visiting 93
destinations in 32 countries.
Included in the itinerary are four maiden (new) ports for
the fleet: Souda Bay, for tours to Chania in Crete; Sibenik
in central Dalmatia, Croatia; Brindisi in Italy and Praia da
Vitória in the Azores. The new ports will feature in Queen
Victoria’s popular Mediterranean itineraries which depart
from Rome, Venice, Athens and Barcelona between July
and November.
Meanwhile, Queen Mary 2 will offer her popular
transatlantic crossings, making 22 sailings of seven or eight
nights between Southampton and New York from May
to December.
As part of Cunard’s new special events itineraries, Queen
Mary 2’s eight-night transatlantic voyage departing
Southampton on September 14, 2017 will include a visit
to Le Havre to coincide with the city’s 500th anniversary.
Guests will enjoy a spectacular welcome and send-off by
locals including fireworks, historical costumes and music.
The magic of Europe’s celebrated Christmas markets
will also be the focus of two December short cruises on
Queen Elizabeth, departing Southampton on December 8,
2017; and on Queen Victoria, departing Southampton on
December 12, 2017. Queen Victoria’s five-night cruise to the
Christmas markets in Bruges, Amsterdam and Cherbourg
will also celebrate the liner’s tenth anniversary.
PRINCESS CRUISES’ 2017-18 SUMMER SEASON With Princess Cruises’ 2017-18 summer programme, New
INCLUDES NINE SAILINGS FROM AUCKLAND Zealanders can experience the tropical magic of Tahiti and
Hawaii as well as the beauty of the North and South Island
in nine sailings from Auckland.
Ranging from four-night getaways to Sydney via the Bay of
Islands to a 35-night odyssey exploring the Pacific Islands,
the Princess Cruises programme begins on December
30, 2017 with a 12-night cruise from Auckland to Sydney
on Diamond Princess, which will return to local waters
for the summer. The itinerary visits Wellington, Picton,
Akaroa, Dunedin, Fiordland and Hobart. Meanwhile,
the 2,000-guest Sun Princess will offer three round-trip
cruises from Auckland visiting seven ports in Australia and
New Zealand.
For those keen to explore the Pacific, Sun Princess will
sail from Auckland on April 8, 2018 for a relaxing 35-night
journey visiting Fiji, Hawaii and Tahiti. There are also two
short-break options on Sun Princess, with four-night
sailings departing on January 26 and May 18, 2018 from
Auckland to Sydney via the Bay of Islands.
During the cruise line’s 2017-18 summer season, Golden
Princess and Sun Princess will also be offering cruises from
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle.
