FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY: MALAYSIA 19
WELCOMES NICKELODEON THEME LAND
Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon, the first Nickelodeon-themed
land in Asia, is now open. Set amidst ten acres of lush
tropical rainforest and resembling a “lost” hidden world
in a jungle, the attraction is part of 35.6-hectare Sunway
Lagoon Theme Park in Selangor Province, Malaysia.
The Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon attraction includes a Rain
Fortress – an interactive water play area using reactive
technology, a Water Spray Area, Giant Aqua Tube Rides,
a daily signature slime deluge and a variety of other
waterslide attractions.
It promises to be a young explorer’s dream. Climbing
“ancient temple” steps, explorers pass pineapple
columns and intricate carvings leading all the way up
to a magnificent SpongeBob SquarePants structure.
The adventure continues with geysers, sprouting water
cannons, walks along cascading falls and gooey moments
with the signature green slime. Running deeper into the
forest are suspended bridges over rivers, more thrilling
wet and wild activities as well as gravity-defying rides
that twist around trees and hills.
Completing the Lost Lagoon attraction are retail shops
and food outlets themed with Nickelodeon’s hit stars,
including SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Sunway Lagoon Theme Park includes five other
entertainment attractions: the Water Park, Amusement
Park, Extreme Park, Interactive Wildlife Park and Scream
Park.
FAMILY CRUISING FUN WITH P&O
From movie-making to P&O Edge Adventure Park, there’s
something for everyone to enjoy on a P&O Cruises holiday.
P&O Cruises operates the biggest adventure park at sea
with P&O Edge, a popular and thrilling feature across its
fleet. A funnel climb, a bungy jump, a Titanic moment
and a flying fox are amongst the activities. New offerings
designed for maximum thrills include Walk the Plank,
which extends off the side of the top deck, and soon, an
exhilarating gyroscope activity. (Activities vary from ship
to ship.)
The fun doesn’t stop there. P&O Cruises’ guests can
have the ride of their lives with racing car simulators
on Pacific Pearl, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn. The
simulators provide guests with a realistic driving
experience across a range of famous race circuits,
including Mount Panorama, home to the famous
Bathurst 1000.
Broad Shorts (on Pacific Dawn, Pacific Jewel, and
Pacific Pearl only) is also a popular choice for the kids.
Here they can enjoy a taste of Hollywood at sea with
a movie-making programme based on the animation
technology behind Wallace and Gromit and The Pirates!
Band of Misfits.
Kids’ Clubs are a centre of on-board entertainment, with
each ship in the fleet featuring four Kids’ Clubs catering
for two to 17-year-olds. A special 5pm family dinnertime
means everyone can come together for a meal before
taking in a show in the evening. Plantation Restaurant and
The Pantry also host kids-only dinners with special mini-
menus and guest appearances from mascots TC & Skipper.
