ESPIRITU SANTO & SIGHTSEEING ESPIRITU SANTO
The largest island of Vanuatu and fast becoming the must place to visit, locals call it an untouched paradise, travellers call it
Vanuatu’s capital of adventure, divers call it their Mecca. Santo is an “away from the masses” experience where you can take the
opportunity to do as little or as much you need to in this unrushed region of Vanuatu. Considered by many divers to be the best
wreck dive in the world, the SS President Coolidge was a luxury passenger liner converted to a troop carrier during WWII and
provides a fantastic diving opportunity. Visitors also take in the many World War II relics that the American army left behind, some
on land and others below the ocean. One of the few places left where you can be on a beach alone, dive or snorkel with a
thousand colourful fish, explore tribal and ritualistic cultural sites and follow it up with dinner on a jetty overlooking the South
Pacific, all in the same day. You will enjoy Santo’s slow pace and laid-back lifestyle, with accommodation options to cater for
everyone from exclusive island resorts to more budget style accommodation.
How to get there: Air Vanuatu flies from Port Vila to Espiritu Santo daily. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes.
