    Highlights of this cruise:

    Copenhagen, Denmark
Find out why Copenhagen is one of the most popular port cities in Europe. From the time of the Vikings, Copenhagen has grown from a humble fishing village to a vibrant metropolis. Tourists today are always delighted to hear that Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen drew much inspiration for his fairytale world from the city of Copenhagen, where he penned The Little Mermaid. Lovers of Copenhagen revere the city as it stands today as a "fashion powerhouse," one of the most environmentally friendly cities on the planet and one that is beloved for its storybook townhouses, verdant parks, ancient cobbled plazas and pervasive, distinguished culture.

    Stavanger, Norway
Learn more about this city located at the mouth of the Gandsfjord in southwestern Norway. Stavanger offers fun for adventure lovers and history buffs alike. Traditional foods in Norway are influenced by the geography of the region. Common staples at the dinner table include seafood, root vegetables, fruit, cured meats and wild game. For a special dining experience, venture out to Flor & Fjære, a garden and restaurant on the island of Sør-Hidle, only 20 minutes by boat from Stavanger. Here, you'll enjoy scenic views of exotic plants, palm trees and the sea as you savor outstanding international cuisine—a true feast for the senses.

    Bergen, Norway
Nestled between 7 magnificent mountains on the western coast of Norway, Bergen is considered the gateway to the fjords. Bergen is known for its outstanding seafood options. Fiskepudding (fish pudding), fiskekaker (fish cakes), fiskeboller (fish balls) and Bergensk fiskesuppe (Bergen fish soup) are all traditional dishes. For dessert, try the customary skillingsbolle—a large cinnamon roll—or orsommerbolle, with a custard center.

    Akureyri, Iceland
Akureyri, Iceland is your vacation destination for ruggedly beautiful coastline, iconic geothermal pools and more. Located at the base of Eyjafjordur Fjord, approximately 60 miles from the Arctic Circle, Akureyri is often referred to as the Capital of North Iceland. A population of 17,000 ranks this city as the second-largest in the entire country. Akureyri is rich in culture—and home to several museums, including a folk museum, natural history museum and art museum. The town also hosts an arts festival, Litsamar, each summer from mid-June to the end of August.

    Reykjavik, Iceland
The capital of Iceland, Reykjavik is small in size—but rich in culture and natural beauty. Discover this unique city that is part old Norse and part modern. Local Culture and Flavor
Nordic and Danish influences abound and are evident in art, music, restaurants and more. The largest immigrant populations in Reykjavik are Thai and Polish, adding to the town's diverse atmosphere. Fishing is a predominant occupation in Iceland—as well as a popular pastime—so fresh seafood is easy to find throughout the city. If you're craving a casual meal or snack, look for a hot dog stand! Iceland is renowned for its delicious hot dogs, which are typically made with lamb.

    Kirkwall (Orkney Islands), Scotland
Founded in 1035 AD, this small, European port town is notable for its blend of Norse and Scottish traditions. Visitors delight over its steep-roofed houses, mid-century palaces and medieval St. Magnus Cathedral. For an in-depth look at the culture of the Orkney Islands, visit the Tankerness House Museum—where examples of Orkney's rich archaeology are on display. When you're ready for refreshments, you can choose from an assortment of cafés, pubs and restaurants in Kirkwall. Fishing is a predominant occupation and popular pastime in coastal Scotland, so it's easy to find fresh seafood and shellfish. The area is also known for its excellent beers and spirits. Consider a tour and whiskey-tasting experience at Highland Park Distillery in Kirkwall, the most northern distillery in the world.

    Dover, England
Beautiful Dover is located in the southeast corner of Great Britain, just 80 miles from London and 28 miles from France. Its white cliffs have remained the city's proudest and most recognizable feature since it was first settled. This attractive sight has welcomed visitors traveling to England from continental Europe for centuries. Today, Dover is the world's busiest harbor, one of England's most active cruise liner ports and a major dock for freight, as attested to by the ever-present fleet of colossal cargo ships docked there. On a clear day, you can easily see France from Dover's shores. Life in Dover is characterized as calm, pleasant and idyllic. Locals spend their leisure time walking along the shops on the promenade that borders the marina, or hiking the many cliff-top trails around Dover Castle.
