Your cruise in detail
Sail to Sensational Southern Hemisphere
Ready to explore the end of the earth? It all begins in the port of San Antonio, the gateway to Chile’s energetic capital of Santiago. After a day at sea, enjoy a late stay in Puerto Montt in the Chilean Lake District before departing for Castro. Next, it’s off to Puerto Chacabuco—a small town in northeastern Chilean Patagonia—ahead of spending two days at sea, cruising through the steep, dramatic shores of the Chilean Fjords. Your next stop is an overnight in Punta Arenas, perched on the western side of the Strait of Magellan. Then, we cruise the Beagle Channel—a 149-mile-long remote wonderland that borders Argentina and Chile. From there, we travel to Ushuaia, located at the tip of Argentina, for a late stay. From here, it’s a relaxed night at sea before we spend five incredible days cruising the breathtaking Antarctic Sound, past the ice-covered Elephant Island. Arrive at the remote, windswept Falkland Islands and their tiny capital of Port Stanley for the day before another restful night at sea. Travel to the Argentinian port of Puerto Madryn for a day of discovery. Then, after another night at sea, find yourself in Montevideo, Uruguay, for an overnight stay before this Southern Journey concludes in beautiful Buenos Aires.
Cruise Highlights
Before you set sail from San Antonio, delve into Chilean culture, cuisine, and rodeo on our Chilean Traditions: Casablanca Valley & Santiago excursion.
Visit the Angelmo Harbor Market in Puerto Montt to browse everything from freshly caught fish to rainbow-hued alpaca wool goods.
See Castro’s famous wooden stilt houses (or palafitos), which were once the most typical structure on the island of Chiloé.
In Puerto Chacabuco, visit the city of Coyhaique — located approximately 1500 feet above sea level — for truly spectacular views.
In Punta Arenas, take a boat to Magdalena Island and mingle with a colony of thousands of beautiful Magellanic Penguins at the Los Pingüinos Natural Monument.
Explore the Punta Tombo National Reserve in Puerto Madryn and see some of the half-million penguins who live throughout the sanctuary.
Spend the day exploring Old Town or strolling La Rambla in Montevideo.
After debarking in Buenos Aires, tour some of the city’s most famous sites, then visit the rich farming area of the Pampas for lunch and live music in this immersive experience. -
