Day 1, Monday:  Ljubljana or Venice

Upon arrival in Venice or Ljubljana you will be met and transferred to your Ljubljana hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or to begin exploring. This evening, meet your fellow travellers for an orientation meeting, including a welcome drink. (WD)


Day 2, Tuesday:  Ljubljana – Postojna – Piran

In the morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ljubljana. Travel to the Karst region. Your first stop is at the Postojna Cave, one of the largest in Europe. Tour this unique subterranean world by miniature electric train. After the tour travel to nearby wine producer for wine and prosciutto tasting. Finally, drive to Piran on the Slovenian coast. Day 3, Wednesday:  Piran – Portorož  – Goriška Brda – Nova Gorica

See the highlights of Piran this morning, then head to Portorož, a popular tourist resort. Continue to the hilly region of Goriška Brda. Discover the charming town of Šmartno and have delicious dinner at a local tourist farm. Overnight in Nova Gorica. (B, D)


Day 4, Thursday:  Nova Gorica – Soča Valley – Bled

Drive along the emerald green Soča River, through Kobarid featured in Hemmingway’s “A Farewell to Arms” and stop to visit the WWII Museum. Later, continue to Bled, beautifully situated in the Alps. Your evening is at leisure to begin exploring this delightful town. (B)


Day 5, Friday:  Bled

A sightseeing tour shows you the highlights of this charming town on the shores of Lake Bled. You’ll also visit the imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. We will return to the lake shore and taste the famous Bled cream cake. In the afternoon travel to Skofja Loka, a beautiful medieval town with a castle that rises above the confluence of the two Sora Rivers, Poljanska Sora and Selska Sora. After the sightseeing tour visit Nace homestead and taste some of the local products. (B)


Day 6, Saturday:  Bled – Bohinj – Bled

Today tour to the other Alpine beauty, Lake Bohinj and enjoy a relaxing walk along the lake shore and take a cable car to Mt Vogel, from where you can admire the stunning Julian Alps. Before returning to Bled you will visit the Shepard’s Museum and taste some of the best Slovenian cheese. Tonight, celebrate a wonderfully scenic holiday with a Farewell dinner at the favourite restaurant. (B, D)


Day 7, Sunday:  Bled – Ljubljana or Venice

After breakfast you will be transferred to Ljubljana or Venice airport for your departure flight. (B)
