Carry-on/Cabin Baggage Allowance
- All carry-on baggage must be stored in the overhead baggage compartment or under the seat.
- Flights operated by KLM Cityhopper have limited storage space in the cabin and some baggage may need to be placed in the hold. Flying Blue Elite members may always carry one carry-on item.
- Economy Class: 1 bag maximum 25 cm x 35 cm x 55 cm (10 in x 13.5 in x 21.5 in) including wheels, handles and pockets, with maximum weight of 12 kg (26 lb).
- World Business Class/Europe Select: 1 bag maximum 25 cm x 35 cm x 55 cm (10 in x 13.5 in x 21.5 in) including wheels, handles and pockets and one bag smaller than 45 cm x 20 cm x 35 cm (18 in x 8 in x 13.5 in), with total weight not exceeding 18 kg (40 lb). Exception: World Business Clas passengers on flights from India are allowed only one carry-on. A second carry-on may be checked free of charge.
- In addition to the carry-on baggage, one of the following: handbag, briefcase, camera, small laptop, or 1 other item of similar or smaller size.
- For a child younger than 2 years of age for whom no seat was booked, you may bring aboard one carry-on containing items to care for your baby. The dimensions of this piece may not exceed 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm (21.5 in x 13.5 in x 10 in) and may not be heavier than 10 kg (22 lb). If there is space available, you may bring aboard a small collapsible buggy; otherwise you can check the item at no additional cost.
- Passengers who exceed their allowance will be required to check their carry-on baggage, and additional checked baggage charges may apply.
Checked Baggage Dimensions
The sum of the length + width + height of the bag should be 158 cm (62 inches) or smaller inclusive of handle, pockets and wheels.
Sporting Equipment and Musical Instruments
The airline may have specific requirements and fees for transporting sporting equipment and musical instruments. Please check with the airline for limitations, transportation requirements and fee information.

For flights operated by Aer Lingus, Air Baltic, Air France, Bulgaria Air, Estonian Air, Jat Airways, Olympic Air, and Transavia, checked baggage may be purchased at 15 Euro, but can only be purchased at the airport check-in.
Exceptions apply to:
- Infants (in lap) - checked baggage allowance is 1 piece at 10 kg.
- Flying Blue or SkyTeam Elite / Elite Plus members - checked baggage allowance is 1 piece at 23 kg.
- Flying Blue Elite / Elite Plus members - checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces at 23 kg each.
- Flying Blue Ivory members receive 50% discount (instead of the current free allowance). The first piece of luggage will cost € 7.50 (one way) or 1500 miles. Registration at the airport will cost 15 € (one way) or 3000 miles.
- Flying Blue Ivory members can choose to pay with Flying Blue Miles (a 50% discount will also apply), online or offline at the airport sales counter (except Schiphol), when Air France / KLM operates the whole route.
- Travel to/from Italy (except Florence, Bologna, Turin and Venice), Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Belarus - checked baggage allowance is 1 piece at 23 kg.
Flying Blue, Flying Blue Elite / Elite Plus and SkyTeam Elite / Elite Plus members should enter their membership numbers at the time of booking; Non-members may enroll after making a booking and add their membership number to their booking in order to qualify for the checked baggage allowance above.
