Note: The airline may have partnerships with other airlines and your flight may be operated by another airline. For journeys to/from the U.S., the baggage allowances of the airline that ticketed the first segment of your travel should apply throughout your travel. For travel that does not involve the U.S., you should check with the operating airline for information about their baggage allowances; the other airline's baggage allowances may be more restrictive and you could be charged for extra baggage by the other airline..


Carry-on/Cabin Baggage Allowance

  • Each passenger (except infants) are allowed 1 bag within the maximum dimension of 45 in / 115cm, weighing no more than 10 kg (22 lb)
  • Infants do not have a carry-on baggage allowance.
  • In addition to your cabin baggage allowance, one personal item (3kg max) may be carried in the cabin including one of the following: Handbag/pocket book, small camera case, infant bag or baby food, and laptop computer with case.
  • Infants are allowed to have one bag of 3kg for their food and necessities.
  • Carry-on baggage must be stowed underneath the seat in front of the passenger or in the overhead compartment.

Checked Baggage Dimensions

  • The baggage allowance specified above is per person. 
  • The maximum size per bag (length + width + height) is 158 cm (62 in) .
  • For safety and occupational health reasons (loading by baggage handlers), checked baggage items may not weigh more than 32 kg (70 lb) per baggage item. This rule applies regardless of the baggage allowance.

Sporting Equipment and Musical Instruments

Air Tahiti Nui allows on its operated flights in addition to the published free allowance, one additional piece of specified sporting equipment from the list below:

  • Golf, surfboard, body-board, kneeboard, kite surf, long board and diving equipment not exceeding 23kg maximum weight and 250cm (98 inches) maximum length.

         OR 

  • Paddle or fishing rods in a container that does not exceed 5kg maximum weight and 200cm (79 inches) maximum length.

In all cases, the second, and any subsequent items of sporting equipment are subject to excess baggage charges (Extra Piece/Oversize and/or over weight as applicable).
