    DAY 1 - ARRIVE

Once you arrive into Tanzania today we’ll meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to our accommodation for the evening, where we’ll enjoy dinner together and have a trip briefing about the days ahead.Rivertrees Country Inn (Dinner)

For those joining from our Kilimanjaro Trek 'Kibo' trip, you’ll begin your safari trip here.Once loaded up we’ll head west to the Manyara area, stopping along the way for a bike ride through a local village to check out the traditional markets. Later, once we’re done exploring by pedal power, we’ll head to a local Maasai community, to learn about their way of life. It’s a fascinating and personal experience, as we learn about the daily lives of these people – the family structure, marriage, roles and responsibilities. There’s then an opportunity to take a sundowner walk for those wanting to stretch the legs a bit further! Tonight, we’ll kick back and enjoy some delicious camp cuisine surrounded by rich, wild Savannah bush. Our camp backs onto the Losimingorti Mountain Range, acting as a natural wildlife corridor from the Ngorongoro highlands through to Manyara conservancy.Luxury Camp, located near Maasai Community (All meals)Bike Ride: Leisurely 1 hour

We’ll check-out from camp early this morning, something you’ll quickly become familiar with on safari. Our game drive takes us down to the Ngorongoro Crater floor, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater forms a bowl of about 265 square kilometres and is said to have the highest density of wildlife anywhere in Africa. As a result, gameviewing here is out of this world! As we descend into this beautiful setting we’ll keep an eye out for the Big Five. On the crater floor you’ll likely see zebra, wildebeest, eland and gazelle, plus a wide variety of birds. After a wonderful picnic lunch, with our binoculars handy, we’ll set off again on our journey to the central Serengeti region. Our eco-friendly camp tonight is set up next to a stream, making it very active with wildlife all year round. With stylish bell tents and attached bathrooms with hot water, this is proper African ‘glamping’!Eco Green Camp, Banagi (All meals)

All the camps that we choose to stay at operate in the most environmentally sustainable manner, with solar powered lighting, zero plastic and recycling wherever possible; a nice thought to have as you sip your morning coffee enjoying your non-stop safari experience from your tent verandah. With another early start we’ll continue our game drive, onto the Northern Serengeti region. You’ll learn along the way how the enormous Serengeti National Park is a critically important open ecosystem, set directly on the Great Migration route, an event considered ‘the greatest show on earth’. This afternoon you’ll have the choice of taking an afternoon guided walking safari or another game drive. Our camp tonight is situated next to a river system, overlooking a salt lick where animals, such as giraffe, ostrich and elephant, constantly visit. And again, you’ll be lavishly looked after by your camp chef and team.Eco Green Camp, Kogatende (All meals)

After your early morning cuppa around the communal fire, we’ll catch the sunrise out on safari. You do also have the option to go on an early walking safari if you’d prefer to stretch your legs and join up with the game drive safari. Today you can expect a scenic landscape made up of hills, riverine forests, plains and rocky outcrops. The famous Mara River runs through this area, offering you the opportunity to potentially witness wildebeest and zebra’s crossing the river between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Today you can either return to camp for a relaxing brunch and siesta, or pack a picnic lunch and spend the whole day out exploring the Northern Serengeti. Tonight we’ll share a final meal together and swap stories of the wildlife highlights experienced on this safari.Eco Green Camp, Kogatende (All meals)Optional Walking Safari: 5-10 kilometres (3-6 miles), 2-3 hours

After breakfast we’ll take our final game drive to Kogatende Airstrip, for a scenic regional flight back to Arusha Airport. We’ll check into our day room at the Rivertrees Country Inn, to relax before making the short transfer across to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for your flights (or your joining hotel if you’re staying on in Tanzania).(Breakfast, lunch)
