The journey between Pretoria and Cape Town promises some of the most diverse and spectacular scenery the sub-continent has to offer. You’ll travel around the awe-inspiring mountain ranges that dot the continent, through the apparently arid desert landscapes and over untamed savannah grasslands.
The Train: Follow in the footsteps of Kings and Presidents who have travelled on this magnificent, moving five-star “hotel-on-wheels”. Enjoy high tea or a pre dinner drink in the elegant lounge car with its large picture windows which flood the carriage with panoramic views of the passing countryside. Should you prefer a more relaxing ambiance, then the club car offers card tables, a small library and a fully-equipped bar – as well as a fine selection of Cuban cigars. The Blue Train serves up only the best of fine dining experiences complimented by a selection of superb South African wines.
Choose from the twin-bedded Deluxe with shower, the double-bedded Deluxe with bath; or the twin or double-bedded Luxury suites, both with baths. All of the suites are transformed from elegant, spacious lounges by day, into sanctuaries of comfort and slumber by night.
