Kylie and Steve get married in Hawaii!
30 November 2023, by Steve Marshall

Our lovely owners Kylie and Steve visited Hawaii in November 2023 to tie the knot - Steve tells us their highlights and where to catch the best waves!
It was an incredible trip away with friends. An amazing 10 days in a stunning location on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
We wanted to get married “offshore” as we both love travel so much and have been working in travel most of our lives. Oahu has so much to offer, stunning beaches, the people are amazing, incredible hiking and wonderful food options, especially the food trucks on the North Shore.
Wedding Team - Papailoa Beach.
Haleiwa - A hidden gem town on the North Shore and we spent 3 nights up there and was awesome out exploring the area, paddleboarding on the Haleiwa river spotting huge turtles. Surf season for the world famous North Shore is December to Feb where huge swells roll into world famous breaks like Pipeline, Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach and Haleiwa Bay.

I (Steve) have been to Hawaii a couple of times, just to the mainland (Oahu) but do plan to do an island cruise to the other islands in the future. I had a board shaped by Hawaiian legend shaper Kerry Tokoro and I picked it up on this trip.

As well as getting the Smith shaped, Jordy Smith Pro board
Steve purchasing a WSL Pro surfers' (Jordy Smith of South Africa) surfboard from Seth at The North Shore Surf Shop – A very excited Steve!!
I also picked up another pro-ridden board that belonged to Aussie Pro surfer Sally Fitzgibbons, shaped by Sharpeye surfboards – these boards now grace my hallway wall, along with my first brand new board I purchased way back in the late 1980’s, a Town & Country board
